Ali Sarikhani – Company founder
Ali Sarikhani (FCA) is founder of Chiltern plc. In 1971 he qualified as a chartered accountant with a leading accounting firm and was made a partner in a big 4 firm in 1976. In 1980 he established his own accountancy practice and in 1982 he founded a corporate services firm, which later became a subsidiary of UBS. He expanded the business via the acquisition of Williams Jeffery Barber (which has now evolved into Chiltern's Tax Support for Professionals division) in 1987 and Chiltern Limited (a corporate tax consultancy) in 1997.
In 1997, Ali formed the Chiltern group after leading a management buy-out from UBS. Since then he has been instrumental in driving Chiltern's growth to it becoming the UK's leading independent tax-led professional services group.
Ali Sarikhani invests in a number of businesses via his family trust including Alpha Telecom, for which Chiltern PLC funded the buy out and then proceeded to grow the business from £40m of revenues to £140m+. In early 2003 a successful approach was received for the Alpha business for ten times the investment made two years earlier.
Gary L. Palmer– Non Executive Director
Gary co-founded Wild Card Systems in the USA in 1997 in which he served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer and on the Board of Directors until the company was acquired by eFunds in 2005 where he was Executive Vice President of Global Strategic Business Development. eFunds was acquired by FIS in 2007.
Gary is recognized as an industry expert who is frequently quoted by leading publications and he is a regular speaker at conferences, workshops and other events around the world focused on payment cards and banking as well as emerging payment technologies. He’s also a founding director of the National Branded Prepaid Card Association (http://www.nbpca.org) and serves on the board of the Center for Financial Services Innovation (http://www.cfsinnovation.com). Gary earned his BS in Marketing from the University of South Florida.
Arjan Hoop – Non Executive Director
Arjan Hoop brings to Tuxedo a wealth of experience including fifteen years with Rabobank, Netherlands in its corporate division. Since 2005, Arjan has been a Director at Reggeborgh, a large privately owned investment company based in the Netherlands with a diversified investment portfolio. Amongst others, Reggeborgh has invested in VolkerWessels, Eurofiber, Frisol Group and Providence (a Dutch Investment Advisory company regulated by the AFM (Dutch Securities Commission). In addition Reggeborgh is one of Tuxedo’s shareholders.
Arjan holds a number of degrees in economics and management and has for several years been active in the management of FC Twente, a Dutch soccer team playing in the Dutch Premier League. In addition, he is a member of the board of several European companies. With long standing expertise in corporate banking and his hands-on practical experience in corporate management, Arjan adds valuable EU business experience to the Tuxedo Board.
David Dey – Chairman
Following a long international career at IBM Corporation in the United Kingdom, the United States and in France, David Dey became a Managing Director and Main Board Director at The Plessey Company. He was a Director of British Telecom and was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Energis.
Most recently Mr Dey has been the Chairman or non-executive Director of more than fifteen technology, telecoms and software companies, such as Alpha Telecom, Neos Networks and Technology For Business. He brings over thirty years of experience at the most senior levels of the UK and European business to Tuxedo's Board.
Peter Van Dijk – Non Executive Director
Peter was born in August 1968. He is a Dutch national and graduated with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (Control Systems Lab) from the Technical University of Delft, Holland.
Peter is CEO of Mobility Commerce Services (“Mcom”), a division of VolkerWessels. Mcom delivers contact less payment and e-ticketing services to service providers in the traffic & transportation and entertainment & retail domains. Previously Peter was a Director of Vialis (also owned by VolkerWessels), which specialise in Traffic, Railway and Public Transport systems.
Since 2002 Peter has been an executive member (COO) of the Board of East-West e-ticketing bv. East-West (Thales and Vialis) is responsible for the nationwide implementation of the Public Transport e-ticketing system in Holland.
Marcus Raithatha – Finance Director
Marcus qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990 with HW Fisher (a medium-sized firm of Chartered Accountants based in London). From 1993 to 2000 he has held senior finance roles at William Levene Limited, a houseware distributor and Long Distance International Limited, a telcoms reseller. In 2000 he joined Alpha Telecom where he held the position of CFO. He was instrumental in the financial turnaround in the business which was eventually sold to Tele2 for £58m. In 2004 he was appointed CFO of Euphony Communications, a telecoms service provider operating in 8 European countries.
