Role: Infrastructure Systems Manager

Reporting to: Technology Team

Job purpose: The job holder will oversee setup and management of our enterprise-grade system infrastructure on AWS including upgrade and migration of our current Linux systems, database administration (MySQL) and network security from non-AWS environment, and decommissioning of legacy Microsoft applications.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Oversee setup of Tuxedo’s enterprise-grade infrastructure on AWS. Active involvement required to understand AWS capabilities, security considerations, best practices and be able to do this first hand
  • Successfully migrating (and then managing) existing platform (non-AWS) to AWS
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining necessary services
  • Completing security audits on a routine basis
  • Daily monitoring and maintenance of environment as required
  • Testing and applying software and maintenance patches
  • Leading on all matters of PCI Compliance (this is a major requirement)
  • Advising and making recommendations on all matters of Information Security
  • Liaising with all parties responsible for info sec within and outside of the business
  • Representing the business in matters of IT security and IT Infrastructure
  • Managing a small team of SysAdmins

 

Experience

  • Hands-on experience in setting up and managing infrastructure on AWS
  • Strong Linux administration skills with good knowledge of functionality, package management, security and internal operations, preferably Debian but other knowledge of similar distributions also welcome
  • MySQL administration & tuning
  • Knowledge of Microsoft services; MSSQL and .NET (for legacy platform migration & decommissioning) 
  • Excellent understanding of information and computer security at an enterprise level
  • Familiarity with a broad range of open-source software, including MySQL, Apache, IPTables, NTP and so on
  • Experience of designing, implementing or supporting 'hardened' operating systems and platforms
  • Experience with business continuity planning and disaster recovery
  • Knowledge and experience of PCI-DSS
  • Security testing (Pen testing/application/Firewall rule base reviews)
  • Good technical understanding of IT infrastructure operations - log analysis, Firewall monitoring, IPS monitoring, Internet content filtering,
  • Proactive in approach with strong overall problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage a small team
  • Ability to work well with a team in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • AWS certification
  • Experience of developing and documenting information security policies and procedures
  • Experience of creating and managing highly secure environments, to PCI DSS Level One standard
  • Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory (for support of legacy and access systems); not essential but useful
  • Understanding of Application Security and techniques to mitigate threats in application code and functions
  • Web development experience. You don't necessarily need to be able to develop in HTML, PHP & JavaScript, but these skills would help
