What is a prepaid card?
Prepaid Cards are becoming increasingly popular in the UK and Worldwide. As well as being an alternative to credit or debit cards they can be used in other ways:
- Gift cards that can be used only in certain stores
- Non-reloadable cards that can be used in millions of outlets around the world
- Re-loadable cards that can be used in millions of outlets around the world
Tuxedo Prepaid Cards are either VISA or MasterCard® so can be used to make purchases online, instore or over the phone.
The main difference with a prepaid card is that it is not linked to a bank account so can be used for consumers who are ineligible for a regular bank account. There is no overdraft facility with a prepaid card.

We do have off-the-shelf solutions that are available immediately however, you can also choose a white label solution. How secure is the eccount® platform?
The system is built for both weight and robustness, boasting an extremely high degree of internal, application and network level security. The platform has been audited by a wide range or large, blue chip organisations and their assigned technical auditors as well as being subject to regular internal and external audits including load testing, penetration testing (internal and external), vulnerability scanning and application testing.
Do I have to purchase the full platform?
No, because of the flexibility of the eccount® platform we can offer clients different operating models dependent on needs and capabilities.
Do you just provide cards within the UK?
No, we have issuing capability across the entire SEPA region and are currently active in five countries. Through client led demand we also have rapid growth expansion planned across a number of other international payment arenas over the next 3 years. We have an office in Australia and will soon be opening offices in Dubai and the USA. Our global footprint means that we can deliver global solutions for our clients in what is an ever shrinking world.
