Challenge
Many of the AA’s customers love travelling and spending abroad, but hate paying exorbitant exchange charges and overseas usage fees.

Solution
Following the successful launch of the AA Spend and Earn Prepaid MasterCard® card in April 2010, the AA introduced the AA Travel Currency Prepaid MasterCard card to provide customers with a convenient way to manage their holiday money.

Available to use wherever the MasterCard Acceptance Mark is present (over 35 million global locations including 2 million ATMs), the prepaid card offers zero fees on overseas transactions, and provides customers with an overseas ATM fee refund on withdrawals over £50 – allowing customers to save as they spend.

Result
AA customers travelling abroad can pack a convenient prepaid card that’s valid for three years and can be easily loaded in any number of ways, including free loading via bank transfer or debit card via the online account portal. A dedicated UK call centre also provides card customers added peace of mind that any issues can be resolved quickly and effectively, whilst abroad.

It’s not only their customers who recognise the benefits: In March 2014, the AA Travel Currency MasterCard prepaid card was awarded a five star rating by data experts Moneyfacts.
